Simple List, Important Loves

Posted on

I’ve seen a couple of ABC posts floating around the blog world these days – and I think it’s a great idea! I’m stealing it. It’s Friday … original ideas = gone. I saw this on Janetha’s blog, but she got it from someone else who got it from someone else. Hurray for copycats! :)

So here’s my ABC list, including 26 things that I enjoy everyday.

Alliteration. I think it’s magically magnificent and mostly majestic.

Books. I have stacks and stacks and stacks of books in my apartment. I love losing myself in one, usually romantic ones or ones written by female comedians (hello, Tina Fey/Ellen DeGeneres/Chelsea Handler/etc).

Candles. I light those bad boys all year round. And they usually smell like baked goods … I like having my apartment smell like I just made a pie. Yeah, like I could would ever do that.

Dexter. Oh yes. For those of you who have been reading Yellow Haired Girl for awhile, you know this. The obsession continues.

Exercise. I’m incredibly grateful that I am able to do this everyday. And I’ve learned to enjoy it (most of the time)! Doing something that is beneficial for you and liking it? That’s practically unheard of.

Family. I’d be lost without mine. They are all so supportive, caring, and (mildly) funny. Love them.

Greek yogurt. Of course this is my “G” entry. You’ve seen my WIAW posts, right? ;) I have this at least once a day.

Home. This is where I feel at peace. Whether it’s in my own apartment or at my parent’s house … I love being home. There are few places where I’m more relaxed.

iPhone. Yes, I’m serious. It’s very rare that I don’t have it in my hand. I use it for EVERYTHING. Work, life, everything. Seriously.

Jokes. The cornier the better. If you can tell me a knock knock joke or a blonde joke, we’ll be friends forever. Feel free to make me giggle in the comment section! :)

Keurig. I know I’m considering cutting back on coffee (that’s a biiiiig maybe at this point), but I could never give up my Keurig. Not when I can make delicious chocolate donut flavored coffee! Come on now.

Lotion. Stereotypical girl move. You should see my vast collection … I think I could smell like a different flower/piece of candy everyday for two weeks.

Movie nights. I like spending my Friday nights on the couch, under my favorite quilt, in sweatpants, with a DVD on. I know how to live it up ;) I usually have a social life the rest of the weekend … but on Fridays, I like to decompress and do nothing. It’s awesome.

Netflix. This is a new discovery for me, and goes with my last point. Jeez, I love Netflix. I still can’t believe I waited this long to sign up.

Optimism. Hey, we all have down days. But I am incredibly happy that I have people in my life I can text or call and they will instantly brighten my day. I love being surrounded by positive people who will give me a slight kick in the pants when I need it :)

Pistachios. I bought a huge bulk bag last weekend. I CAN’T STOP EATING THEM.

Quinoa. It’s a highly nutritious superfood. It gets eaten at least once a week around here.

Red. This is my favorite color! Don’t you know that blondes look good in red? ;) Or I do, at least.

Shape magazine. I got a subscription of this great magazine for Christmas, and I’m so happy that I get it every month! I always enjoy the articles and many of the workout suggestions.

Treadmills. You know I’ve been bitten by the running bug, right?

Umbrellas. But only because I really like rain. So I guess I’m mostly using the letter “U” to express my love for precipitation. #sorrynotsorry

Vegetables. Lately I’ve been all about brussel sprouts, I can’t shove enough into my face at one time. For awhile, I was all about squash. Before that, peppers. Before that, red onion. I’ll get tired of brussels soon. But then something else will catch me eye and I’ll go hard on that too.

Will & Grace. I’ve been noticing how many reruns there are of this show on TV. Love it. And there is a mini marathon every Saturday morning … it’s like my grown up version of Saturday morning cartoons.

X. Just the letter – when used on Words with Friends. It’s worth 8 points! If you can find yourself a triple letter score, you’re laughing! :)

You guys! I love being able to respond to your comments and visit your blogs (if you have one) everyday. You are all spectacular, awesome, fantastic. Multiplied by six.

Zumba. I’m still working on finding a place to teach. Hopefully that will happen soon! I’m going with the flow for now since work is really busy (I have more than 30 overtime hours banked … can you believe that?!). I probably don’t have time to put together choreography for a 45 minute class at this point, but I hope to get there soon!

Ta daaaaa! That’s a very simple list, but it’s filled with some very important things.

Have a wonderful weekend! Mine is going to be filled with sunshine, sleep, and my BEST FRIEND’S BACHELORETTE PARTY!!
