Full Kitchen, Full Smile

Happy Monday!

The weekend was fabulous. I got a lot accomplished around the house, which always feels so good. I like starting the week with all my ducks in a row.

One of the errands I got done? GROCERIES. Finally. For the last couple of months, I’ve just been hitting up the grocery store every week or two and getting the essentials (chicken, eggs, tortillas, carrots, yogurt, fruit) and calling it good. I think I end up spending more money this way … and I just feel less organized. I’m one of those people that likes things done a certain way, and several trips a month hasn’t been floating my boat. I thrive on my routine.

So, I feel pretty broke now. But this happened:

There’s a lot of goodies on that counter. Here’s some of the goods:

I love Happy Planet. I drink this straight out of the carton every morning. So good with smoothies, too!

I’ve bought this before … and I love the zip! I add this sucker into my (daily) breakfast/lunch/whenever wraps with eggs.

You know you have a peanut butter problem when … you accidentally buy two tubs. At two different stores. Whoops.

This was a new purchase for me. I like cooking up batches of quinoa or bulgur, and then add it to soups so I have a more filling lunch. I picked up a couple of varieties. I hope they taste as good as they sound!

My bulk buying. Let’s see what’s in there. Vegetable macaroni, pistachios (why I allow myself to buy them, I don’t know … they’re like crack to me), a schwack of red lentils, oats, quinoa, and crackers.

My number one weakness. I can eat the whole carton in one sitting. And I have, more than once.

Love Crunch carrot cake granola ON SALE? Just try and tell me I shouldn’t have bought this.

I feel so much better now that I have a fully stocked fridge. One less thing to think about :)

Have you made any fun purchases lately? I love finding new goodies!

  1. I’m the same way with grocery shopping. It’s more satisfying to me to do one big shop rather than popping in and out of the store randomly when I realize I need something.
Speaking of food as crack…that granola would be mine. You’d have to hide the bag from me to get me to not eat that in one sitting. Carrot cake!
The other day I impulse-bought a container of dark chocolate covered almonds from Trader Joe’s. Mmmmm. Dangerous.
