So, tell me. How was your weekend?
Mine was fantastic. I was able to spend time with a great group of people Friday night, then went to The Hunger Games on Saturday. Just so you know, I’ll be seeing it 8 more times and then buying it on DVD. It was done so well, and stayed as true to the book as possible. Oh just awesome.
But the weekend wonders didn’t stop there! I had a reunion with a group of friends that I had been missing dearly on Saturday. So many laughs, such a spectacular night.
I have the greatest friends.
Now I’m ready for the week … and it’s going to be healthy one! I’m FINALLY recovered from my cold (hooray!!!) and I’m hopping back on the healthy train. And I’m taking a new approach.
I’ve made a meal and exercise plan for the next five days.
While I had a blast in glass this weekend, I treated my body a little like a garbage receptacle. I’m talking beer, pizza, nachos, greasy concoctions … zero nutrition. Kinda like how Ron Ron eats when they get back from Karma on a Saturday night. And as delicious as it all was, bacon was involved in at least two meals, come on now
, I’m ready to commit to eating clean this week.
Also, my groceries are dwindling and my plan will carefully utilize what’s left in the fridge
I’ve never meal planned before, but I’m very excited about it! I’m looking forward to getting back on track.
And the scheduled workouts?! I can’t wait. Typically, I just go to the gym and do my thang without a lot of planning ahead of time. Since I wasn’t feeling top notch last week, my workouts were 98% non-existent (except for the sweaty attempt on Wednesday). Now I’m craving sweat. You must know what I mean, right?
Did you have a stellar weekend? Do you meal plan?
Have a great day – and how can you not, since I managed to fit three Jersey Shore references into this post?! I did that just for you

I definitely noticed the Jersey Shore references … nice touch.
And as far as meal planning, I don’t plan every meal for the week, but I typically try to plan what I’m going to be cooking each night. Of course, being at the hotel right now, it’s more like “what options do I need to have in the fridge in case the hotel’s dinner consists of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup for the 3rd night in a row and my husband is still hungry.”
I think I would run out of creative options if I was you!
i would love to see your meal plan! i don’t formally meal plan, but always stock up with tons of fresh produce and protein choices for the week. sometimes weekends like you had are necessary, but it is always so nice to get back on track. me? i’m travelling all week so i imagine fast food will be involved. gulp.
Eeeesh! Good luck! Travelling always cramps my style – here’s hoping you can find some healthy options along the way
Love the Jersey Shore references…. I’m currently watching the reunion, and I just can’t get enough! I meal plan every Sunday or Monday so I know what to pick up for the week at the grocery store. I find I do better when I have a plan, rather than just winging it… and that goes for my workouts too!
It’s just THE best show to watch after work/school/whatever. Mindless, “check out” television at it’s finest.
Yes, I usually always have workout/tentative meal plans…the trick is always doing them!
Love the quote!!!
I’m definitely finding sticking with the plan a challenge – and the week isn’t even half over yet!! Eeeeesh….
I had a good weekend too, but how can it not be good when the Hunger Games are involved. I absolutely loved it and agree that it was sooo well done!
I’ve been following a bootcamp program for the past couple of weeks, so my workouts are planned out for me.
Are you enjoying boot camp? I’ve always wanted to try one but never have…
I don’t watch J Shore but I reference it sometimes, once I put up a pic of myself about to nom on a platter of pickles, so how could I not reference dear Snookie? She was destined to be a mommy-to-be, don’t they always have pickle cravings?
I totally know what you mean about craving a sweat after lots of time off and one of “those” weekends. At least you had fun, right? Bacon is always worth it!
“Bacon is always worth it” is now my new life motto
