I love to grocery shop. Seriously, it’s one of my favorite things to do. It probably looks like I’m wandering around aimlessly, off in La La Land, but really I’m just enjoying myself. Sometimes I even wear my earbuds (usually to avoid screaming children) so I get even more out of the trip.
And while I love to grocery shop … there’s one thing that really, really irks me. Once I hit ALL FOUR stores (!!!) that I frequent on a grocery mission, haul bag after bag after bag after bag into my home, put it all away and collapse on the couch … I start a new list.
Seriously.
I always have a list going. I turn on the Food Network, and realize I forgot cottage cheese. Flip open one of my magazines featuring a recipe, and see that I accidentally crossed off hot sauce when I hadn’t actually put it in my cart. IT’S SO FRUSTRATING.
This is a short post. But it’s something that bugs the HELL out of me.
There’s no way I’m alone on this (or maybe I am?). Do you make a new list as soon as you get back from the grocery store? And how many stores do you visit in one shopping trip – is four too many?
And now I will leave you with this because posting without including pictures feels really strange. If you got all riled up reading this like I did writing it, you will need to calm down. Here:
Better? Yeah, me too.

four stores? i can barely manage one. unfortunately, the store is shop at is miserable and crowded – but, i shop there because its much less expensive than the nice one. but, if i’m feeling blue – i’ll go to the nice store and wander around in pure bliss. and yes – 9 times out of 10 i start a new list the same day i get back from the store. argh.
I know. The whole ordeal ends up taking me an entire afternoon – some places just have better stuff! I go to one place solely for Greek yogurt (duh!).
This was me yesterday! I ran to Whole Foods which is about 15 minutes away… But I went during rush hour since I’m super smart haha. Anyway, I went there instead of the normal store because I needed coconut oil. So I’m in Whole Foods happy go lucky crossing things off my list and when I get home, I realized we were out of brown rice (I made veggie burritos for dinner so we needed rice!) I ran out to the normal store and picked up the rice. After I returned home the second time, I realized I forgot the coconut oil at Whole Foods! That was the only reason I went there in the first place!! Ug – I was upset for about 5 seconds and then remembered that I don’t want to be upset over coconut oil haha
You’re so right! Coconut oil is definitely not something to get crazy over
